This composition of nine square noughts seems to carry religious overtones without reverting to the particular iconography or symbols of established world religions, a sort of crucifix for Humanists.

The Number 5, only just recognisable, floats within a solid wooden frame, itself seated within a heavy gilt frame. The physical natures of these surrounds give substance and texture to a single linguistic, adstract idea.

A year later in May 1997, a son, Antoine Zola, was born; AMA became a father for the first time. All this work with 0s, 1s, 5s & 9s was paying off !
