A collection of contained and complementary compositions, ‘Discovered without my Mind’ further explores the theme of interaction between individual ideas within their framework, and then the relationship of frameworks.
Extending the theme of interaction between individual characters and their surroundings, ‘Found within my Garden’ sets out to extend the idea into a collection of contained and complementary compositions.
The thought that the members of a successful and renowned musical ensemble would not always play together concerned young AMA. That something so seminal might not adhere to its component parts seemed impossible.
‘Moments in Time and Space’, a collage of various fields of disparate visual information created or collected by AMA since his first essays into art in 1965.
“Art as therapyâ€, that was how this piece of work was described by a fellow art gallery owner, when exhibited at Galerie ‘O’ in Bayeux in 1995.
The original image was uncovered by accident, but on inspection something about it seemed to merit further work. Just as the dark central content is framed and contained by the light coloured card surround, so too did this assemblage seem to want to expand.
In the beginning there were figures and figures, almost fifteen years of them, fifteen years of bank statements; to say nothing of the ancillary documents that accompany a commercial business.
